While it may not look that way on the surface, there's actually quite a bit going on in the Belfast scene. Here we hope to provide a guide to every LGBT club and organisation in Belfast, as well as reviews etc. Hopefully over the summer we'll get a chance to do a full-on review of the Northern Irish queer scene and provide you with a little more information. For now, however, you'll just have to put up with whatever information we've managed to gleam off various websites...

Bars and Clubs:
The Kremlin
- Well known gay bar which was voted Best Gay Venue in Ireland by Big Buzz magazine, apparently.

HOWL
- Alternative music queer club. This is a little gem of a club, run on the first and third friday of every month at the Pavillion on the Ormeau Road. If you like your music on the alternative side of the spectrum this is the place for you. It's pretty straight (and bi) friendly (two of the four women who run it are straight) so you can bring your hetero mates if you like and nobody will object to hetero make-out fests on the dance flo' (unlike a lot of gay venues). The word "queer" is left pretty open so you'll get a diverse range of different people who are into different things, which is cool.

Union Street Pub
- This is apparently Belfast's oldest gay venue, although I checked the website and there doesn't seem to be anything queer about it. Meh.

Milk
- This is normally a straight bar, but on Monday nights it switches teams and becomes Forbidden Fruit (nice wordplay there). Haven't been yet, but am told it's predominantly male.
